Through high efficiency rotational grazing and effective water management, we ensure the optimal quality of life for our animals. We are diligent in the processes employed to maintain our standards. All of the calves are fed and finished for 16-18 months on a variety of natural, protein and nutrient rich grasses. Our pigs are on pasture for 8 months, rooting and fertilizing the soil to aid in keeping it healthy. No grain. No corn. No chemicals. Ever. The animals live in a harmonious balance with nature resulting in top quality protein that’s good for you and for the environment.

SmithviewFarm
We are located in the rolling hills of North Carolina between Pittsboro and Siler City in the Silk Hope community. Smithview Farm has been in the family since the early 1950s. We were traditionally a tobacco-producing farm with a few cows. Over the past decade, we became very concerned about healthy eating. We decided in 2010 to specialize in the production of extremely high-quality 100% grassfed (grassfed/grass-finished) Angus beef.

Premium Dakota Beef
Mack Farms, a 500-acre farm, was established in 1947 when Harry and Edna Mack (my grandparents) bought land just north of Goodwin, SD, and started a dairy operation. The dairy was passed down for 2 generations and I was handed over th wife, Bridget, and I had just gotten married. We had few resources and limited help, so I had to be creative as to how I would manage on my own. In 2009, I sold the dairy operation and decided to focus my energy on beef cattle. I also switched to non-GMO (non-genetically modified) corn and tried to model my farm in nature's image as best I could. I saw the cattle's health improve, as did my own with this change in thinking and management. In 2012, I bought a full-blood Japanese Wagyu Bull to capitalize on the niche market of Wagyu beef. I quickly found that there was a shortage of high-quality, prime grading, locally raised beef in South Dakota. I knew the best way to serve the community would be to provide what others couldn't. Raising Wagyu Beef is my answer to our health epidemic and allows me to provide nutrient-dense protein to my community.
